Q: My radiator fan didnt function properly and the engine overheated on my 2006 Infinti fX35?
As I live in a hot climate between 34-37oc day time, my 2006 infiniti FX35 overheated as the fan switch didn't function properly and the fan didn't turn. Very strange for a car just over a year old and only driven on average twice a week. Does anyone know if I should change the complete fan system or buy the nismo or billiion thermostat that turns on at 65 degrees and not OEM stats of 72-74oc as I live in a hot climate. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
A: With your car still being so new, and not driven much, it should still be under warranty. I would replace the entire fan system. You could also run a switch from it so that you are able to turn the fan on when you want it on or need it on. It will not shut off until you turn it off.
Q: Does anybody know who makes the GPS system for Infiniti FX35?
Could it be edited as far as VOICES, MAPS, ETC... Kind of like TOMTOM? I have FX35 / 2006... Found the DVD / GPS System under pass. seat, trying to find out if it can be played with as far as changing some things around...
A: well the infinity systems you would just need to do through infinity themselves. from the look of it and comparison to some aftermarket ones, it works and looks mostly like the garmins. garmins use navteq for maping and such and are verry reliable. the aftermarket systems do have other options in voice but nothing like tom tom which is just about the only good thing about that crappy gps. the maps themselves like i said can only be acquired through infinity or if you know what is compatible maybe ebay, but as far as i know !. infinity should be hardrive based nav (unless its an older model and 2. the upgrades only contain mapping and maybe language upgrades. if you want like nav-traffic it would be an aditional component.
Q: acid- stained wheels?
Hi, I just bought 2006 infiniti fx35. It's an ossom car. Just has one problem. Somebody acid- stained one of the aluminum wheels. How can I fix it? And make it look good again?
Thanks
A: I had the same problem with white acid stains on a set of aluminum wheels and the best stuff I have found so far is ProPolish Plus($15.00+S/H for 3 small tubes).I got this on EBAY and cleaned the wheels up very nice and gave them a great shine but there is still white spots on the wheels.I have tried at least 6 different polishes and this was the best,it makes the wheels shine so much the stains are not that visible.Go to EBAY and type in pro polish plus in search and it should come up,I used all three grades of this polish with a Mothers Power Ball on my electric drill then hand buffed them.GOOD LUCK
Q: Trading my G35 for an FX35?
I want to trade in my 2006 Infiniti G35 because it keeps getting stuck in the snow. Plus I have a big dog. I found this 2006 FX3 $28,000. When I got my G35 (a year ago) I negotiated down from $27,000 to $23,000. How much can I negotiate the FX for? At what price should I start?
mileage 15K
A: see Kelly's blue book link ... You need to find out the miles on the car and the condition on the vehicle ... finish that info and you should be able to calculate a price for that vehicle...good luck !!! ( its a great car... )
