Speaking of the design, there are no substantial changes in its exterior. It gets minor changes to the front and rear bumpers and now the SUV is equipped with newly developed British Windmill Turbine-themed alloy wheels (only in 4×4 variants). The SUV is now offered in the new “Deep Golden” color option in addition to existing shades such as Agate Red, Metal Ash, Warm White and Metal Black.
Moving on to the interior, the SUV gets a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 12-speaker sound system. The infotainment system now includes the smart-tech inclusion of over 75 connected car functions, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, the Shortpedia News First app in the segment and Gaana song search via voice commands. MG has also added over 35 Hinglish commands.
MG Motor says vehicle owners can use the app as a remote control for audio, air conditioning, and ambient lighting in addition to existing i-Smart functions. Previously, i-Smart was only compatible with Apple Watch users, but with the update it was made accessible to Android-based smartwatch users as well.
The SUV is now also equipped with a MapmyIndia origin navigation system which will now provide real-time and AQI information.
Speaking of other features, it gets an all-terrain system with 7 modes, a panoramic double roof, 12-way adjustable electric seats, driver massage and ventilation function, wireless charging and many more.
There are no changes in transmission and gearbox options, the SUV continues to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine available in two tuning states, 160hp / 375Nm and 215hp / 480Nm. Both engines are mated as standard to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
MG Motor India has also announced that it will offer a customized “MY MG SHIELD” car ownership program with over 180 after-sales service options. In addition, customers will be offered a standard 3 + 3 + 3 package, which is a three-year warranty of unlimited kilometers, three years of roadside assistance and three periodic labor-free services.
MG Gloster continues to compete with Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Jeep Meridian and the recently launched Mahindra Scorpio-N.
