Authorities say the shooting incident in Denmark, in which a gunman opened fire in a crowded shopping mall in Copenhagen, killing three people and at least three others injured, was not linked to terrorism.
The gunman likely acted alone and fired indiscriminately at random buyers, Danish police said on Monday, the day after the shooting.

Chief Inspector of Copenhagen Police Søren Thomassen said the dead victims included a Russian citizen and two Danes. The victims included a man in his forties and two “young men,” he said.
Thomassen said the suspect, identified only as a 22-year-old Dane, was arrested on the spot and that the incident was not an act of terrorism.

The police chief said at least three victims were seriously injured. They were Danish and Swedish nationals, he added.
The reason for the shooting is not known at the moment.

The shooting occurred around 5:37 pm and the suspect was arrested 11 minutes later, police said. A witness told Danish broadcaster TV2 that the killer appeared “very violent and angry” and was “very proud of what he was doing”.
“It’s incomprehensible. Heartbreaking. Useless,” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said after the tragic accident. “Our beautiful and usually so safe capital was changed in a split second.”

The mall where the shooting took place was close to where Harry Styles was supposed to host a concert on Sunday night. The concert was later canceled in light of the shooting, Deadline said.
“I am heartbroken along with the people of Copenhagen. I love this city. The people are so warm and full of love. I am devastated for the victims, their families and all those who suffer,” Styles said on Twitter Sunday evening. “I’m sorry we couldn’t be together. Please take care of each other. H”
