Ant-Man Star Paul Rudd Becomes Real-Life Superhero After Befriending Bullied Boy | Entities and news on the arts

Hollywood actor Paul Rudd became a true superhero after contacting a schoolboy whose yearbook was signed by only two students.

Rudd, who plays Ant-Man in the Avengers franchise, has reportedly responded to a now viral Facebook post from Brody Ridder’s 12-year-old mother Cassandra when she only received two autographs wishing him well.

Cassandra, of Colorado, in the United States, revealed her anguish over her son’s alienation while urging people to “teach their children kindness.”

He said, “My poor son. Two teachers and a total of two students wrote in his yearbook. Even though Brody asked all kinds of children to sign it.

“So Brody took it upon himself to write to himself,” he said, adding, “My heart is shattered.”

Cassandra told The Washington Post about how Brody was repeatedly bullied and struggled socially at school.

The story caught the attention of Rudd, 53, who decided to surprise Brody with a FaceTime call.

In a clip Cassandra shared on Facebook, she told Brody, “Anyway, I’ve heard about you. I’m like, ‘I need to talk to this guy because this guy looks like my kind of guy.’

“He likes chess, fencing, dinosaurs … am I right?” He continued. “Well, I’m very excited to be able to talk to you and meet you!”

And in a further attempt to bolster Brody’s spirit, the kindhearted actor sent him a signed Ant-Man helmet and a handwritten note.

She wrote: “It was nice talking to you the other day. It is important to remember that even when life is hard things get better.

“There are so many people who love you and think you are the coolest guy there is – I’m one of them.

“I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish.”

A message on the helmet read: “To my good friend Brody for when he takes the world!”

Rudd reportedly sent a message to Brody to inform him that a package was on the way, before the schoolboy said the actor was his favorite superhero.

“You are mine,” was the reply.

Cassandra has since been inundated with requests for Brody’s address to send him letters, which she is putting in a special book for him.
