One woman felt “very relieved and excited” after firefighters dove into a river to retrieve her huge diamond ring after it fell into the sea.
While traveling on a yacht along the Charles River a MassachusettsUnited States, the woman dropped the massive jewel into the water below.
The local fire brigade dive team was alerted of the incident while working on another job along the waterway and came to help.
Fortunately, the “distraught” owner and her husband had a good idea of where the ring landed and divers were able to retrieve it in less than five minutes.
“The ring was returned to its owner very relieved and excited and the crew members secured the equipment for the rest of the details,” said firefighters from Cambridge, Massachusetts.
“This is a great example of using our training for public service and a tremendous opportunity for members of the diving and marine division to practice working together.”
The day after the incident, the woman contacted the firefighters to thank them for their efforts.
