The co-executive producer of the US comedy series Scrubs was arrested on sexual assault charges.

Eric Weinberg allegedly targeted young women in public places under the pretext of being a photographer offering them work.

LAPD investigators said the writer allegedly sexually assaulted women during photo shoots, which took place at his own residence.

Weinberg was arrested around noon Thursday in the Los Feliz area of ​​Los Angeles.

He was charged with several allegations of sexual assault, including rape.

His total bail was set at $ 3.2 million (£ 2.7 million).

LAPD said Weinberg’s arrest is related to crimes committed in Los Angeles between 2012 and 2019, although investigators believe there are other unidentified victims who may date back to the early 1990s.

“Weinberg was a Hollywood producer / writer and appears to have targeted women in grocery stores, coffee shops and other public places,” a spokesperson said.

“Weinberg approached women between the ages of 20 and 30 under the pretext of being a photographer and organized photo shoots with them.

“Once the women were in his residence, he would have sexually assaulted them during the photo shoot.”

Victims or anyone with information were asked to contact investigators.
