CWG 2022: Para athlete Bhavina Patel storms into TT final, assured of a medal | Commonwealth Games 2022 News


BIRMINGHAM: India Bhavina Patel made it to the women’s singles para table tennis final 3-5 and secured a Commonwealth Games medal here on Friday.
The Tokyo Paralympic Games silver medalist beat Englandit is Sue Bailey 11-6 11-6 11-6 to seal his last place.
The 35-year-old Gujarat paddler will face Nigeria Christiana Ikpeoyi in the final on Saturday.
Sonalben Patel, meanwhile, went down to Ikpeoyi 11-8 6-11 4-11 7-11. She will now face Bailey in the bronze medal match.
Raj Aravindan Alagar also lost 11-7 8-11 4-11 7-11 to Nigerian Nasiru Sule in the men’s class semi-final 3-5.
He will now cross swords with Nigerian Isau Ogunkunle in Sunday’s bronze medal game.
