The new Vande Bharat Express from Indian Railways everything is ready to be launched this week by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. The new generation Vande Bharat is the third 160 km / h self-propelled convoy of this type, but with different innovations compared to the first two trains. Sources told TOI that after extensive testing by RDSO, the new train is expected to be put into service by October.
Railways are looking to produce 75 Vande Bharat trains by August 2023, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement last year. Subsequently, FM Nirmala Sitharaman announced plans to launch 400 Vande Bharat trains over the next few years.

The train will boast aircraft-style seats with improved ride comfort. The color scheme of the seats has been changed to blue for the non-Executive coach and bluish gray for the Executive coach.

Like previous versions, the Executive class seats of the new Vande Bharat will also be able to rotate 180 degrees.

The new Vande Bharat trains will be equipped with a new indigenous automatic train protection system called Kavach. This is intended to provide protection by preventing trains from passing the Danger signal (red) and avoiding collision.

Four emergency windows have been added to each carriage for easy evacuation of passengers in the event of an unpleasant accident. There will also be a 32-inch passenger information and infotainment screen compared to the previous 24 inches.

The train will have four track side cameras, including rear view cameras outside the bus. Two signal exchange lights were installed on the carriages to exchange signals with the on-board stations.

Emergency lights have been provided in each bus to power the lights in case all electrical connections are broken.

While the first trains will be air-conditioned carriage services, the goal is to produce AC sleeper trains that will be better than the Rajdhani Express. Indian railways are also looking to acquire technology to make aluminum Vande Bharat trains for the first time.
