An FBI report concluded that Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger on the gun that killed a cinematographer on the set of the Rust movie.
Baldwin accidentally shot Halyna Hutchins while they were shooting the movie in October 2021, but he always claimed he didn’t actually pull the trigger.
However, a forensic investigation just completed by the FBI claims that the weapon in question could not have been fired without the trigger being physically pulled.
The report, seen by Sky News, states that with the hammer (the part of the pistol that strikes the firing pin) in the quarter and half cock position, the pistol “could not fire without pulling the trigger.”

The findings were reviewed by the New Mexico Medical Investigator’s Office, and a further post-mortem report classified Ms. Hutchins’ death as an accident.
“The death was caused by a gunshot wound to the chest,” he says.

“Review of available law enforcement reports showed no convincing evidence that the weapon was intentionally loaded with live bullets on set.
“Based on all available information, including the absence of a clear intention to cause harm or death, the mode of death is best classified as an accident.”

Baldwin believed that the Colt .45 he was given, as he was about to shoot a scene on the New Mexico set of the western, was an unloaded “cold gun”.
In a televised interview about the Rust shooting, Baldwin said that while “he would do anything to undo what happened,” he doesn’t feel guilty about the fatal shooting – saying that while “someone is responsible for what happened. .. I know it’s not me “.
