NEW DELHI: The RSS is working to awaken and unify society so that India can emerge as a “model society” for the whole world “, his boss Mohan Bhagwat said Sunday. Bhagwat he said that people should come forward in serving society as a community and not as an individual.
He was speaking at an event organized by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) unit of Delhi, on the various welfare activities carried out by its workers.
“Sangh is working to awaken society, unify it and make it more organized as a single entity … so that India can emerge as a model society for the whole world,” said Bhagwat.
The RSS chief also said that many personalities from different sectors of society have sacrificed themselves and contributed to the country’s independence, but “it took some time to thrive as a company.”
He said it is the nature and basic DNA of Indians who think as society and not as individuals and we need to encourage them further.
Speaking of welfare, Bhagwat told Sangh workers to work for society without thinking about individual interests.
“We have to prioritize us over ‘mine and mine’ while doing social work and that will help us evolve as a society,” he said.
