Paragliding crash in Dubai kills South African pilot


DUBAI: An amateur-built motor-powered paraglider crashed in Dubai, killing its South African pilot, according to the official UAE News Agency W.A.M. reported.
The glider “crashed today in the Skydive Club area at Marghem in the emirate of Dubai,” WAM reported on Sunday, citing the civil aviation authority.
An investigation has been opened into the circumstances of the accident “which resulted in the death of the South African pilot of the glider”, he added.
Last week, a single-engine passenger plane crashed into a parking lot in the capital of the United Arab Emirates Abu Dhabi due to a “technical malfunction”, causing an injury.
