David Warner rested, injured Marcus Stoinis out of Australia’s final match against New Zealand | Cricket News

Versatile Aussie Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of Sunday’s third and final one-day game against New Zealand in Cairns due to lateral tension, and fly-half David Warner has been rested, the home side announced on Saturday.
Stoinis, who had suffered “low lateral strain”, would undergo rehabilitation in Perth ahead of the team’s tour of India later this month.
Nathan Ellis joined the team as Australia push for a 3-0 series sweep against their trans-Tasman rivals.
“David Warner has been released from the team given a heavy workload over the next 12 months and securing the series,” the team said in a statement.
Australia’s white ball captain Aaron Finch will leave the one-day format after Sunday’s game in Cairns.
