HYDERABAD: It all boiled down to the last three overs. Australians, who were 140 out of six by the end of the 17th over, had scored 46 in the last three. Kohli went on to complete his half-century of 37 balls with three fours and three sixes.

Previously, the Australians had got off to a great start Cameron Green hitting a swashbuckling 21-ball 52 with seven fours and three sixes while the guests got 66 in powerplay. After his departure, the Australians lost their way while the Indians recovered. From a strong 62 for two, visitors plummeted to 84 for four in the tenth over. Halfway through the game there were 86, adding only 24 in the last six overs.
Glenn Maxwell (6) didn’t last long because he was sold out Axar Patel when trying to steal a second. Steve Smith (8) also didn’t contribute much as he was perplexed by Dinesh Karthik off Yuzvendra Chahal.

Josh Inglis (24) and Tim David repaired the damage with a 31-run stand for the fifth wicket before Patel hit twice in his final over to get the Indians back on top. It was left to David and Daniel Sams to bring visitors to a respectable total. David ran 27 balls 54 with two fours and four sixes, while Sams remained unbeaten on 28 out of 20 balls.
