Child Caught In Michigan Auto Theft Rescued By Bus Driver | News from the United States

A two-year-old is safely reunited with his family after their car was stolen with him inside.

He was taken to Grand Rapids, Michigan as his parents were putting another child on a bus – and it was school bus drivers who helped him find the boy.

Dave Skinner was on his way last Tuesday when he saw two people frantically trying to get cars out – no one was stopping, but they stopped.

A video has been released showing the father desperately urging: “Call the police … someone steals the car with the baby in it.”

He called emergency services and also contacted other bus drivers in the Kelloggsville area to broadcast the alert.

One of them realized that she had recently passed the boy, who had been sitting on a blanket in a driveway after being abandoned by the thief.

CCTV shows Sue Figueroa returning to rescue him, less than half a mile from where he was taken. At first he pulls away, before she can win her trust and convince him to get into the vehicle.

He later reunited with his parents.

“It was a good day and a good result,” said Dave Skinner.

The car was also recovered, but the police are still looking for the thief.
