Kim Jong Un pledges to strengthen North Korea’s nuclear operations after missile tests | world news

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has pledged to strengthen his country’s nuclear operations in the future.

In the aftermath of new missile tests this week, Mr Kim said there was no need to have a dialogue with North Korea’s adversaries.

An intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) sent over Japan on Tuesday was a newly developed missile aimed at providing a louder and clearer warning to North Korea’s enemies, according to state news agency KCNA.

Over the past two weeks, Kim has overseen and guided the formation of the country’s tactical nuclear operations unit, according to the report.

Along with the missile launch on Tuesday, the South Korean military said a pair of short-range ballistic missiles were detected overnight Saturdayflying towards its eastern waters.
