Thousands of people descended on the village of Saifai in the Eawah district of Uttar Pradesh for the last rites of the veteran socialist leader Mulayam Singh Yadav. From senior political leaders to party workers, people from all walks of life paid tribute to “Netaji”. Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath also laid the crown on Mulayam Singh’s mortal remains. The MLC of the Samajwadi Party Ashutosh Sinha, who is in Saifai to attend the last rites, told PTI: “I arrived here last night around 10:00. People from different walks of life came to pay their final tributes to ‘netaji’, and this continued into the morning as well. Party workers from all over the country gathered to take a last look at their beloved ‘netaji’ and say goodbye to him for the last time. ” Veteran leader Mulayam Singh Yadav died Monday in a private hospital in Gurugram. His mortal remains were brought to his native village Saifai.
