Kerala Human Sacrifice Case: All Three Accused Sent To 14 Days In Judicial Custody | Kochi News

ERNAKULAM: All three accused arrested in connection with the killing of two women allegedly as a human sacrifice in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta were sent Wednesday to 14 days of judicial custody by the court of Ernakulam.
Two women from two different locations in the Ernakulam district were taken to Elanthoor in Pathanamthitta and ritually killed. Subsequently, their bodies were dismembered and buried as part of a black magic “sacrifice”.

The arrested accused were identified as Muhammed Shafi alias Rashid, and the husband-wife couple of Bhagaval Singh and Laila.


“Prime accused Shafi of using FB to find people with financial difficulties. He found Bhagaval Singh and Laila, a couple interested in human sacrifice. Shafi had used FB on his wife’s phone but she didn’t know,” quoted Kochi DCP S Sasidharan, as the chief investigator of the Kerala “human sacrifice” case said.
He further stated that they are also investigating whether the sexual exploitation was carried out by the first accused Shafi.
“There are 8 cases registered against Shafi for various crimes in addition to this ritual case of human sacrifice,” added Sasidharan.
Kochi City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju said he found nothing earlier when they questioned Shafi, the first accused.
“The scientific investigations led us to Pathanamthitta. Shafi is the main conspirator and a pervert, we learned about this during the investigation. There is a possibility that the accused ate body parts after killing the victims. There is an ongoing investigation. investigation, but not yet confirmed. We are investigating if there are more accused and if there have been more similar cases, “Nagaraju said.

According to the official, the killings took place on June 6 and September 26.
The two women, who had earned their daily bread by selling lottery tickets on the streets here, were allegedly sacrificed by the accused to solve the couple’s financial problems and bring prosperity into their lives, the official said.
