Belarus will hold live-fire exercises with Russia

The Belarusian Defense Ministry said on Monday it would conduct live-fire exercises and anti-aircraft guided missile launches as part of its joint task force with Russian forces, Interfax reported.
“The military units of the formations should be deployed in four training fields of the Republic of Belarus in the east and center of the country, after which they will start carrying out combat training activities,” Interfax said citing a responsible for the defense of Minsk.
The Belarusian Defense Ministry said last week that Russian troops would deploy to the country to form a new “regional grouping” as Minsk claimed Ukraine was preparing to attack its territory. Belarus has provided no evidence of Ukraine’s aggressive intentions.
Belarus is a close Russian ally that provided logistical and political support for Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
Shortly before the February 24 invasion, Russian troops arrived in Belarus for what Moscow described as military exercises, before launching cross-border attacks on the Ukrainian capital. Kyiv.
