LIVERPOOL: A superb goal in the second half of Mohammad Salah earned Liverpool a 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday as the champions lost their early game unbeaten premier league season in a heated thriller that saw home coach Jurgen Klopp shown a red card.
After an opening period that fell short of the match’s blockbuster billing, the second half began at a ferocious pace, with the Egypt international salah denied by a superb save from City goalkeeper Ederson moments after the break.
City then believed they had taken the lead through Phil Foden in the 53rd minute, sparking wild celebrations on City’s bench, only to have him sent off following a VAR review Erling Haaland deemed to have fouled Fabinho in the preparation.
