LONDON: Boris Johnson has 100 supporters and could be a candidate to succeed Liz Truss as British Prime Minister, the Sunday Times’ chief political commentator Tim Shipman said on Twitter, citing an unnamed source close to the former PM .
The BBC and Sky News also reported separately that Johnson, who arrived in London earlier on Saturday after a holiday in the Caribbean, now has more than 100 contributors.
Although Johnson hasn’t officially said he’s running for the contest, his supporter and conservative lawmaker James Duddridge said on Friday that Johnson told him he was “gone for it.”
