Thief Steals Lana Del Rey’s Laptop with Unheard Tracks and 200-Page Book Manuscript | Entities and news on the arts

Lana Del Rey revealed that a laptop containing songs from her upcoming album and a manuscript of a 200-page book was stolen from her car in a car accident.

The 37-year-old singer spoke to his fans in an since-deleted live Instagram clip saying his car was hacked on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles a few months ago.

The thieves broke through all the windows and escaped with a backpack containing his computer, multiple hard drives and a video camera.

He said: “The only time I left my backpack in the car, someone broke all the windows and took it.

“I had to remotely wipe the computer that had my 200-page book for Simon and Schuster, which I hadn’t backed up to the cloud.

“And despite that, people are still able to remotely access my phone and leak our songs and personal photos. I loved the book I lost with all my heart and put a lot of passion into it.

“I just want to mention that despite all of this happening, I am confident in the record to come, despite so many safety factors at so many different levels. I really want to insist and make the best possible record.”

The singer added that she is “confident” about the book and the release of the album, but that she has to actually “start over” with both projects.

He went on to urge fans not to listen to the stolen record saying “please don’t listen to the music if you hear it, because it’s not out yet.”

“Of course I will never leave anything in the car again, even if only for a moment,” he added. “But we had the same problems at home, and it’s a constant thing. And while I’m so grateful to be able to share all the good things, I also want to share that it was a challenge.”

The singer, who first reached the mainstream in 2012 with the Born to Die album, released two albums last year, Blue Bannisters and Chemtrails Over the Country Club.

Unfortunately, being a victim of this type of crime is nothing new to Del Rey who was he had stolen goods in the Christmas period 2019.
