ROME: Pope francis met on Monday at the Vatican with the French President Emmanuel Macronthe war in Ukraine occupying a prominent place in the concerns of the two leaders.

Neither side immediately released details of their talks.

François will go to Coliseum Tuesday to deliver a speech at the same rostrum, a conference centered on the need for peace and organized by a Catholic charity close to the Vatican.
