Music stars paid tribute to singer Aaron Carter after his death at the age of 34.

Former child star and brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, he would be found dead Saturday in a bathroom at his California home.

His cause of death is being investigated, his rep told Sky News.

Tributes from the music world poured in for Carter, whose son Prince was born in 2021.

Actress and singer Hilary Duff, who starred with Carter on Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire, posted a tribute on Instagram, writing, “For Aaron, I am deeply sorry that life has been so difficult for you and that you have had to fight in … in front of the whole world.

“You had an absolutely effervescent charm … boy, my teenage self loved you deeply.

“Send love to your family right now. Don’t worry.”

US boyband New Kids On The Block shared a black and white photo of Carter and tweeted: “We are shocked and saddened by the sudden disappearance of Aaron Carter.

“Sending prayers to the Carter family. Rest in peace, Aaron.”

Songwriter Diane Warren tweeted: “Fame at a young age is often more of a curse than a blessing and surviving isn’t easy. RIP Aaron Carter.”

Comedian Loni Love recalled meeting Carter in 2018 and described him as “funny, talented and likable”.

He added: “I felt he was trying … he was really just trying to be happy. I’m sorry for his passing … Condolences to his family and fans.”

Actor Lou Diamond Phillips described Carter as a “sweet and kind-hearted young man”.

Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano added, “Incredibly saddened by the death of Aaron Carter. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.”

Carter, who had two top 10 hits in the UK with Crush On You and Crazy Little Party Girl, switched to rap music in his later years, eliminating his child star image with a series of face tattoos.

His relationship with his siblings has been strained over the years, and in 2019 his brother Nick filed a restraining order against him, claiming he threatened to kill his pregnant wife and unborn child.

Carter also had a history of drug convictions and has reportedly gone to rehab on several occasions.
