World Cup referee Facundo Tello prepared for the tournament by handing out 10 red cards in the Argentine Champions Trophy final.

Sunday’s game descended into chaos after Racing Club midfielder Carlos Alcaraz sparked a scrum in front of Boca Juniors fans with his winning goal celebration.

As the teams tied at 1-1 in the dying minutes of extra time, Alcaraz headed a header into the corner of the net to win it for Racing.

However, his prolonged celebration infuriated Boca players, with a video showing them grabbing Alcaraz by the ear and throwing a ball at him.

Tello, who will be one of the officials of the World Cup in Qatarsent off Alcaraz and handed out five red cards to Boca players after the scuffles.

A total of seven red cards were shown to Boca and three Racing players during the game.

Norberto Briasco had opened the scoring for Boca before Racing’s Matias Rojas equalized in the first half.
