MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Friday Ukraine executed more than 10 Russian prisoners of war by direct bullets to the head.
The Defense Ministry was responding to a video posted on Russian social media which it said showed the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war. Reuters was unable to immediately verify either the video or the Defense Ministry claim.
The Ministry of Defense said the video showed “the deliberate and methodical killing of more than ten immobilized Russian servicemen by degenerate Ukrainian soldiers with direct shots to the head”.
The Defense Ministry says the video is a sign of the Ukrainian president’s ‘atrocious nature’ Volodymyr Zelensky and his “diet” in Kyivand said he would “answer in the court of history, the peoples of Russia and Ukraine”.
There was no immediate response from Kyiv to Moscow’s claims. Ukraine has previously said its military personnel were tortured while in captivity in Russia. Moscow denies these claims.
