Passengers with only one name on the passport will not be allowed to travel to or from the United Arab Emirates: Gulf countries to IndiGo


GURUGRAM: UAE authorities have told IndiGo commercial partner airlines that passengers with only one name on the passport who are traveling on a tourist, visit or any other type of visa will not be allowed to enter/exit the United Arab Emirates from Monday.
This means that the first and last name must be clearly declared.
The statement read: “In accordance with the instructions of the UAE authoritiesas of November 21, 2022, passengers with only one name on their passport traveling on a tourist, visit or any other type of visa will not be permitted to travel to/from the UAE.”
According to the low-cost carrier’s statement, the authorities of the United Arab Emirates have also stated that, however, passengers with only one name on the passport and in possession of a residence permit or permanent visa will be allowed to travel to provided that the same name is updated in the “first column “name” and “surname”.
The carrier’s statement reads: “However, passengers with only one name on passports and in possession of residence permits or work visas will be permitted to travel provided that the same name is updated within “First Name” and “Last Name” columns.
