Fortune also favored Hasan as he was dropped by the wicketkeeper KL Raul in the 43rd over as he attempted a high risk shot off Shardul Thakur when Bangladesh still needed 32 runs.

It was always going to be a cut out task for the Indian bowlers to defend a score under 200, but the pacers led by Mohammed Siraj (3/32) all but achieved a miraculous victory for India with their lion-hearted efforts. Siraj along with Deepak Chahar, debutant Kuldeep Sen and Shardul Thakur shared 7 wickets between them as Washington Sundar also took a couple of wickets to bring India closer.

The Indians’ disciplined bowling reduced Bangladesh to 136 for 9 in the 40th over but after that the team got carried away and there were fielding errors, overthrows along with a couple of missed catches which helped Hasan and Rahman to win a stunning victory.
Earlier, India had a horrific bat outing which saw India’s big shots get dismissed on the cheap, followed by a shock mid-order collapse as Bangladesh defeated India 186 in the 42nd .
The experienced trio Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli fell cheap for 27, 7 and 9 respectively as the last 6 wickets fell for just 34 runs as Bangladesh made exceptional use of home conditions.
Bangladesh’s strong bowling performance was spearheaded by veteran Shakib Al Hasan who helped the hosts regroup Rohit Sharma and co. for a modest score.
All-rounder Shakib starred with the ball, picking up his fourth haul of five wickets in the one-dayer and was provided excellent support by pacer Ebadot Hossain, who grabbed 4 wickets.

On a pitch which helped both seamers and spinners Indian shutout KL Rahul (73 off 70 balls) missed badly.
Rahul scored 73 from 70 on a day when others struggled to get going and when the squad was full of all-rounders. Rahul hit five fours and four sixes.
At 49 for three in eleventh, India needed a partnership to stabilize after a first-rate failure. KL Rahul joined Shreyas Iyer (24) in the middle but the latter was dismissed by Ebadot Hossain (4/47), who was rewarded for bowling a plan that works best against Iyer: Stuff a short tone.
With the 43-run small stand winding down, Washington Sundar (19) came in and looked to help Rahul build a partnership. However, the duo could add no more than 60 runs as, shortly after Rahul hit his half-century, Washington singled a fielder as he looked to play the reverse sweep against Shakib.
In the next, Ebadot sent back Shahbaz Ahmed and Shakib then dismissed Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar to leave India reeling at 156 for eight.
Rahul also eventually fell in the 40th with Hossain pawing Siraj for India’s last wicket.
