North Korea reportedly fired 130 artillery shells, violating the inter-Korean agreement


North Korea violated a 2018 inter-Korean agreement that was meant to reduce tensions by firing 130 artillery rounds into the sea off its east and west coasts on Monday morning, according to the South Korean military.

North Korea reportedly took over military exercises led by the south.

Verbal communications of warnings have been sent to the North Korean side, according to a statement by South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Leader Kim Jong-un’s latest show of military might saw shells land in a buffer zone near the maritime border, according to a report.
