TEHRAN: Iran has sentenced five people to death for the murder of a member of the Basij paramilitary force during nationwide protests, the judiciary announced on Tuesday.
Eleven other people, including three children, were sentenced to long prison terms for the death of Ruhollah Ajamianjudicial spokesperson Massoud Setayeshi told a news conference, adding that the sentences could be appealed.
