A catch-up attempt resulted in a thumb injury for India captain Rohit Sharma as he lined up the slips in the second ODI against hosts Bangladesh in Mirpur Wednesday.

Rohit, who also opens the batting for India, immediately left the pitch and was taken to hospital for scans of his left thumb.

BCCI confirmed the right-handed hitter was rushed to hospital for investigative scans.

“Indian captain Rohit Sharma received a thumbs up as he took on the 2nd ODI. The BCCI medical team evaluated him. He is now gone for scans,” BCCI tweeted.
It is a must match for India, who had lost the first ODI of the three-match series.
