NEW DELHI: The pakistani cricket The blind team will not come to India to participate in the ongoing T20 World Cup as the players have not obtained their visas, the chairman of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) has said. Mahantesh G.K. said Wednesday.
“Pakistan team is not coming to India, it’s confirmed. They don’t have their visas,” Mahantesh told PTI on Wednesday.
“Pakistan team collected passports from Indian High Commission in Islamabad today (7th Dec 2022) at around 2.30pm after receiving passport collection email from Indian High Commission but no visa was issued to the Pakistani team,” Pakistan Blind Cricket Council said. (PBCC) said in a statement.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had earlier given clearance to the visually impaired team from Pakistan, but the visa clearance did not arrive in time from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
“The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has authorized the issuance of visas for 34 Pakistani players and officials to participate in the Blind Cricket World Cup 2022 in India. The MHA has authorized the names of 34 players and officials from the Pakistan blind cricket team for World Cup in India after review,” government sources had said.
