Jess Jonassen ruled out of India tour with hamstring injury | Cricket News

MUMBAI: Australian spinner Jess Jonassen was excluded from the current five matches on Sunday T20 Series against the Indian women’s cricket team due to a hamstring injury.
Jonassen will be replaced by leg-spinner Amanda Jade Wellington which is expected to reach India by Tuesday. Australia won the series opener by nine wickets.
Jonassen strained his hamstrings in the opener. “She has since been assessed and it is obvious that the timeframe required for a return during this series is too short,” said the Australia team physiotherapist. Kate Beerworth says cricket.com.au.
“Jess will not be available for the remainder of the series and will return to Brisbane to continue her rehab.”
His replacement Wellington last played a T20 during the India tour in 2018.
