A boy has been killed in Montpellier during clashes between French and Moroccan fans in the city after the World Cup semi-final.
A statement released by the local government office said the boy was “violently hit” by a car in the town, southern France, on Wednesday.
He was transferred to hospital, but died shortly after arriving, the Hérault department said.
The vehicle was found near the scene and police are investigating.
Earlier, France secured their place in the World Cup in Qatar after beating Morocco 2-0.
