Ranji Trophy: Unstoppable Kishan slams 132; Arjun Tendulkar bags two | Cricket News

RANCCHI: Ichan Kishan continued his imperious run as he struck a second century in as many matches to script Jharkhand’s fight against Kerala in their Ranji Trophy Group C game on Thursday.
Less than a week after reaching ODI’s fastest double century against Bangladesh, Kishan was a picture of grit and determination in a 132 (9×4) from 195 balls as he led Jharkhand’s recovery from 114/4 at 340.
Backing him up was Saurabh Tiwary who missed out on a well deserved century by just three points after being cleared by Jalaj Saxena.
The duo put up 202 runs for the fifth wicket to revive Jharkhand after Basil Thampi (3/55) and Vaisakh Chandran (2/81) shook up the first order to wobble them at 56/3.
For Kerala, Jalaj Saxena scored a splendid 5/75. At the close, Kerala were 60/1 with an aggregate lead of 195 points as the match was evenly matched at the JSCA International Stadium here.
Resuming the day on 87 for three, Jharkhand lost skipper Virat Singh (30) with just 27 more points. But Kishan and Tiwary thwarted Saxena and Thampi’s attack to pass the first two sessions.
But Saxena sparked the collapse by dismissing Tiwary and Kishan from successive overs en route to his five-wicket run as Jharkhand folded their first innings in 105.3 overs.
