ISLAMABAD: A suicide car bomb attack at a checkpoint in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, on Friday killed a police officer and injured several others, police said.
“Our initial information indicates that there was a man and a woman in the car,” Islamabad Police Chief of Operations Sohail Zafar told reporters, adding that the car did not stop at the checkpoint when the police tried to arrest him.
“As they were chasing him, the people inside the car blew him up.
“It was a suicide bombing,” he said, adding that at least six other people were injured.
