“I respect him there, he is in the national team. Then he will be with us and it will be our responsibility. We can talk about it,” he added.
Speaking ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Liverpool, Emery said he was looking forward to another meeting with opposition manager Juergen Klopp.
“They are a tough team with an incredible way of playing,” said the Spaniard. “Boxing Day I think it’s going to be different. I think we can win against them if we get our best performance.”
The 51-year-old, who is preparing his team in Dubai ahead of the Premier League’s return, said he was happy with the players he has but one or two could be added during the January transfer window.
“I’m so happy with the players we have, but someone could leave and someone could I think be added to help us,” he said.
