It is expected that the interviews of the candidates shortlisted to choose the members of the selection committee by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will take place between December 26 and 28.
“The former committee will likely select the Sri Lankan white ball team,” a BCCI source familiar with the development told PTI on condition of anonymity.
“As of now, it doesn’t look like Rohit Sharma’s finger will heal enough before the T20Is and in that case, Hardik will lead the team. As far as KL Rahul is concerned, his T20I days seem to be numbered.”
It is possible that the T20I party to be named only includes specialists in this format. Some players like Virat Kohli could also benefit from a break from the T20 format.
