Overthinking is a perception that has followed me since my debut: Ashwin | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Ravichandran Ashwin has lightly criticized people who perceive him as ‘overthinking’ the game after his winning performance against Bangladesh in the second Test at Mirpur.
Hit sideways Shreyas Iyer, Ashvin played one of the best Test innings of his career to steer India to a famous three-wicket victory in an unlikely situation.
His 42 pitches out came after a six-wicket game, making him player of the match.
“Overthinking is a perception that has stuck with me ever since I’ve worn the Indian shirt with pride. I’ve been thinking about it for a while now and I think I should have seriously considered a PR exercise to erase that word from the people’s minds,” Ashwin tweeted. .

Apart from his exploits on the pitch, Ashwin is one of the finest thinkers in the modern game and also owns his youtube channel.
“Every person’s journey is special and unique, while some journeys make them overthink it, others can afford to keep it simple. The moment someone says I’m an overthinker from within walls, I always told myself that this is how I play my cricket and not the way I recommend others to play.
“Finally, I think deeply about the game and share my opinions because I believe that when ideas are shared, they can multiply into miraculous achievements. The fact that it is not popular will not discourage me because my goal is not not to win the war of words, it’s to learn in the end,” he added.
The 36-year-old has already achieved greatness with 449 wickets in 88 Tests. He also took 151 ODI and 72 T20 International scalps.
