The cricketer suffered back, forehead and leg injuries and was admitted to MAX Hospital in Dehradun.
According to SK Singh, the superintendent of Haridwar (rural) police, Pant fell asleep while driving his vehicle.
“He was traveling to Roorkee to meet his relatives. The accident happened because he fell asleep at the wheel one kilometer past Narsan towards Roorkee,” SK Singh told ANI.

Pant’s condition is stable according to hospital authorities.
“Cricketer Rishabh Pant is under the observation of orthopedists and plastic surgeons. His condition is stable. A detailed medical bulletin will be issued once he has been examined. Thereafter, we will move on to the next steps” , said Dr Ashish Yagnik, Max Hospital, Dehradun. .
Pant was alone in the car when he encountered the accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.

Pant has been left out of the upcoming limited series against Sri Lanka. The star star played a big role in India’s two-round Test victory over Bangladesh. Pant had scored a winning shot of 93 in the second test at Mirpur.
Pant has scored 2,271 runs in 33 Tests so far with help from five centuries and 11 fifties. He has also represented the country in 30 ODIs and 66 T20Is.
