‘Substantial improvement’ in Rishabh Pant’s condition, says close family aide | Cricket News


DEHRADUN (U’khand): There is a substantial improvement in the condition of the cricketer Rishabh Pants and doctors have yet to decide whether he should be moved to another facility, according to family friends and others who visited him in hospital on Saturday.
Pant’s mother Saroj pants and his sister Sakshi, who arrived from London on Saturday morning, are with him in hospital, they said.
DDCA director Shyam Sharma and Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher were among those who met Pant at the hospital.

“There are no immediate plans to move him anywhere as his condition has improved significantly since yesterday,” said Umesh Kumar who has been with the family constantly at Max Hospital here.
“Plastic surgery on his forehead had been performed on Friday itself. His first dressing was also done today,” he said.
The 25-year-old, who was traveling to his hometown of Roorkee to surprise his mother, suffered head, back and foot injuries in a traffic accident on Friday morning, police said. Hospital authorities said his condition was stable.
His condition is improving, but doctors at BCCI who are in constant contact with doctors at Max Hospital will take a call to find out whether or not he should be taken elsewhere for treatment of his ligament injury, said Umesh Kumar.

IPL reader Nitish Rana who plays for Delhi also met Pant in hospital on Saturday.
After visiting Pant, DDCA director Shyam Sharma told reporters: “He is being well cared for by the doctors here. BCCI is also in contact with them to update him on his condition. As of now it will only be kept here”.
Responding to a question, he said Pant told him it was dark and the incident happened when he was trying to negotiate a pothole.
Pant had a miraculous escape when his luxury car hit a road divider near Roorkee on the Delhi-Dehradun national highway and caught fire early on Friday.

“He (Pant) is fine. We met him as fans. Let’s pray that he recovers quickly and that we see him play again,” actor Anil Kapoor told reporters after his release from hospital. .
Anupam Kher, who accompanied Kapoor, said, “Everything is fine. We met Pant, his mother and his relatives, they are all fine. We made him laugh a lot.”
