Arsene Wenger to help with Indian’s football’s grassroots programmes | Football News


NEW DELHI: Former Arsenal director and world governing body of FIFA, current head of global football development, Arsène Wenger will play a role in indian soccercore programs and talent development.
During the World Cup in Doha, the Indian Football Federation (AIFF) President Kalyan Chaubey had held deliberations with Wenger and other senior FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) officials regarding youth development projects in India.
“We have had long discussions with the FIFA development team. Arsene Wenger is the head of the FIFA working group and they will help us with the grassroots program. Wenger’s team coaches will come,” Chaubey said after unveiling his “Vision 2047” roadmap.
“When it comes to reducing the football budget, we have received a lot of help from the government and the ministry and we have never been refused when we asked for something. Also in the future, we will expect whatever we deserve in terms of the help the government will give us,” he added.
