Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk set to be sidelined for over a month: Jurgen Klopp | Football News

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk will be sidelined for over a month with a muscle injury, manager Jurgen Klopp said Friday.
Dutch captain Van Dijk was knocked out at half-time in a 3-1 defeat at Brentford on Monday as part of a treble substitution from Klopp.
“Virgil was a surprise for us and a blow. He didn’t feel much,” Klopp told reporters, speaking ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup third round tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
“The diagnosis was quite severe. We’re talking weeks, more than a month, but I hope it will go quickly. It’s hard for him, but he’s played an incredible number of games in recent years.”
Liverpool are sixth in the premier league standings with 28 points in 17 games.
