Indian teams for New Zealand, Australia series likely to be named on Friday | Cricket News

MUMBAI: The new national selection committee will likely convene in a few hours in an online meeting to choose India’s teams for the next set of home whiteballs against New Zealand and the first two Tests against Australia.
The New Zealand series, starting with the first ODI on January 18 in Hyderabad, will feature 3 ODIs and T20Is each. The first test against Australia will be played in Nagpur from February 9-13, while the second test will be held in Delhi from February 17-21.
Currently, the coaches are busy watching the fifth round of Ranji Trophy matches in various venues across the country. After hitting a mammoth 379 against Assam recently, fly-half Prithvi Shaw has a great chance of being called up in either format. It would be interesting to see if Sarfaraz Khanwho has scored runs consistently in domestic cricket for the past three seasons, is finally getting a glimpse.
