NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been ranked the most popular leader in the world with an approval rating of 78%, according to a survey conducted by US-based consultancy firm ‘Morning Consult’.
Prime Minister Modi’s ratings surpass those of other leaders including US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, according to the poll. The survey polled 22 global leaders for assessments.

Prime Minister Modi got 78% of the approval ratings, far ahead of US President Joe Biden, who received 40%. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador came in second with 68% of the vote and Swiss President Alain Berset took third place with 62% approval.
According to data shared on the US monitoring company’s website, 78% of people approve of Prime Minister Modi while 18% disapprove of him. Prime Minister Modi’s approval rating has recently increased, reaching 79% in the third week of January.
The list is updated regularly with US President Joe Biden currently in seventh place. Among the 22 countries, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ranked in the bottom three on the list.
Italy’s newly elected far-right leader Giorgia Meloni, the country’s first female prime minister, is in 6th place with 52% of the vote.
The poll also saw Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in 4th place with an approval rating of 58%.
Brazil’s newly elected President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva finished in fifth place with 50% of the vote, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in ninth place with 40% of the vote and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in twelfth with 30 %. approvals.
