Alec Baldwin is facing a new civil lawsuit from relatives of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Ms. Hutchins died in October 2021 after a prop gun, held by Baldwin, exploded on set while the film Rust was being filmed in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The Hollywood actor is being sued for alleged battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and loss of syndicate.
The film production company Rust is included in the lawsuit.
Consortium loss is when a plaintiff seeks to recover damages to certain relationships on which they are mutually dependent.
High-profile US attorney Gloria Allred, who will represent the family, announced the new lawsuit at a news conference on Thursday.
Ms Allred said: “It is clear to us that all our clients’ relationships have been damaged and that they will not be able to enjoy life in the same way they did when their precious Halyna was alive.
“Halyna was the light in their lives. Naturally, for all three of our clients, that tragic loss of their daughter and sister is heartbreaking.”
In separate proceedings, Baldwin will appear in a U.S. court for the first time on February 24 to face criminal charges stemming from the incident.
Along with Rust’s gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, he faces two counts of manslaughter.
