CUET-UG online registration begins, and will continue through March 12

NEW DELHI: Online registration for the Common University Entrance Test-UG (CUET-UG 2023) began Thursday and will continue through March 12, after which a four-day correction window will be available from March 15-18. UGC he said the computer-based test would be conducted from May 21.
The UGC has written to all central universities reiterating that they “prepare adequately to ensure participation in CUET-UG 2023 and complete the admissions process by the end of July so that the academic session begins by August 1st.
CUET-UG is conducted for admission to UG programs at all core universities, along with other participating state and private universities, higher education institutions, and autonomous colleges. The first edition took place in 2022, in which 90 universities participated. The exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency, was marred by technical problems reported by many centres, and the test had to be rescheduled several times for these centres.
“CUET-UG offers a unique opportunity to students seeking admission to any of the central universities or other participating organizations (including state, prospective and private universities) across the country,” said UGC President M Jagadesh Kumar.
Applicants will be able to learn about the city assigned for the test on 30 April. As scheduled, admission forms will be available for download from the official website (https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/) gradually from the second week of May.
The test will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
CUET-UG 2023 will have three sections. Section 1A (any of 13 languages ​​offered as support) and Section 1B (20 other languages, including foreign languages ​​such as Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Russian). In section 1, 40 out of 50 questions in each language are to be attempted.
Section B will be the domain specific topic. There will be 27 domain specific subjects in this section and an applicant can choose any subject as desired from the applicable university or institute. Also in this section, 40 out of 50 questions are attempted.
Section C will be a general test which is for any such undergraduate program where such a test is used by any university or college for admissions. For this paper, 50 out of 60 questions should be attempted.
A candidate can choose a maximum of 10 subjects from all three sections.
In the first edition of CUET-UG in 2022, over 14.9 lakh applicants registered out of which 9.68 lakh appeared.
