A 17-year-old Turkish teenager was found alive under rubble in Turkey on Friday, four days after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit the country and Syria, killing more than 22,000.
Adnan Muhammed Korkut was only able to move around in the collapsed basement of an apartment building until he was rescued on Friday by first responders in the southern Turkish city of Gaziantep, Fox News’ Greg Palkot reports at the scene.
“I just waited for you all to arrive alone. Thank God you arrived, thank you all,” said Korkut lying on a stretcher.
“God bless my son, he won’t leave me alone for an hour,” said his mother, who managed to escape the building collapse herself. “May they all be equally blessed.”

In the nearby town of Kahramanmaras, a four-year-old girl was filmed being rescued from under debris on Thursday.

Rescue teams could be seen hugging each other after carrying the child to safety.
On Thursday, the US State Department said three US citizens were among the dead in Turkey.
The New York Post also reported that among those killed were a father, wife and their two children from the Queens borough of New York City.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday described the earthquake as “one of the biggest disasters our nation has faced in its history,” according to the Associated Press.
He added that the Turkish government would pay rent for one year to people who have been displaced by the disaster and do not want to live in tents, the news agency also reported.
