NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha Secretariat he asked Congressman Rahul Gandhi to respond by February 15 to notices provided by BJP members regarding his remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the House.
In a letter to Gandhi dated February 10, the secretariat asked him to provide his response to infringement notifications against him by BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Pralhad Joshi – also the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs – by February 15 for consideration of the Lok Sabha speaker.
After Gandhi’s Lok Sabha speech on Tuesday’s ‘Motion of Thanks to President’s Speech’, in which he commented on the Hindenburg-Adani issue, Dubey and Joshi had moved the notices against him.
Both BJP leaders in their notices to Lok Sabha Speaker Or Birla they claimed Gandhi’s comments were baseless and that he had made “contemptuous, unparliamentary and dishonorable” accusations.
Several remarks made by Gandhi were deleted by the speaker.
