NSE co-location scam case: Supreme Court dismisses CBI appeal on Chitra Ramkrishna’s bail

New Delhi: Supreme Court on Monday declined to interfere with Delhi HC order granting bail to former National Stock Exchange (NSE) managing director Chitra Ramkrishna in connection with NSE co-location scam case.
A panel of judges Ajay Rastogi and Bela M Trivedi rejected the CBI’s appeal against the HC order, but clarified that the remarks made by the HC would have no bearing on the prosecution.
Delhi HC had granted default bail to Ramkrishna and former NSE group operations officer, Anand Subramanian in September last year. The HC also granted its bail last week in connection with a money laundering scam and said that “prima facie there are reasonable grounds to believe that the applicant is not guilty of the offence… The application is granted and the appellant is granted bail.”
