NEW DELHI: Australia fly-half David Warner has been ruled out of the ongoing second Test against India at the Koltla after suffering a concussion when he was struck in the head while beating on the first day, Australian media reported on Saturday.
Matt Renshaw was included in the Australia squad as a substitute for a concussion.
Australia, who suffered a heavy defeat in the first Test at Nagpur, were sent off for 263 in their first run in the 2nd Test on Friday.
Warner faced a barrage of bouncers from Mohammed Siraj and was hit twice – once on his arm and then on his helmet – requiring medical attention.
The southpaw scored 15 before Mohammed Shami fired him to end his struggles after a trying day.
